Definitely not. It has some disturbing moments, but I wouldn't call it a horror (even even a thriller!). It's definitely an interesting read though :)

Well six years later ... I have seen it classified as horror, specifically "body horror." It's not following a horror/thriller style but, to me, it was disturbing in a nightmarish way, and if you've seen American Horror Story 'Freaks' there is no way not to compare the two.
