A Goodreads user asked Glynnis Campbell:

I want to know how you start a book. Is it a fully blown idea or just a snippet of an experience or a thought. I like to write stuff for myselfand often have trouble with the first idea and then flush it out. is that how it is done?

Glynnis Campbell Every author does it differently. I tend to get a "what if" scenario in my head... What if a hunter accidentally shot and wounded a woman who was a fugitive and then had to harbor her out of guilt? What if an exiled Scottish princess found a Viking invader washed up on her shore? What if a female Robin Hood tried to rob her secret betrothed?
