Goodreads asked Cynthia A. Robinson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Cynthia A. Robinson Write through it. And I do a fair amount of lead-up to the actual "sit down at the computer and produce text" act. I use some fairly old-fashioned tools to do 'pre-writing': large note cards and white boards; there's often an entire draft in the form of note cards, which I turn to at any stage of a project if I'm having trouble clarifying things. It's much less intimidating to scribble something on a note card than to type it onto a screen. I also tend to do my 'pre-writing' in Spanish. When I switch to English, that's the Signal to Self that this is serious now.
