Goodreads asked Chriscinthia Blount:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Chriscinthia Blount Never use the word "aspiring". If you want to accomplish anything in life, think and speak in the present tense. "Aspiring' is something in the future tense and, therefore, always ahead of you. I AM a writer is more appropriate.
