Goodreads asked Cheyenne Raine:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Cheyenne Raine "Maroon Daydreams" is rooted in my own experiences and thoughts, it includes mostly poetry and a few pieces of prose. I divided the book into four sections: healing, experience, daydreaming and aftermath. The healing section is composed of pieces that I wrote to myself or to friends when we were in need of soft words and soft reminders that things pass; we just need to breathe and exist, right now. The experience section is composed of pieces that have to do with all the joys I have known or all the things I've had to live through. I am not too detailed on the experiences, as I'd like the reader to be able to remember their own stories in between the lines I've written. The daydreaming section is probably my favorite, the beginning of a story-telling adventure I have only recently begun. All the pieces are easy on the soul and refreshing for the lungs. Just like daydreaming. I hope these things will one day be experiences I have to share! The last section is labeled aftermath, and, to me, it's everything I want to be and where I want to be. It's where I'll be, eventually, in all aspects of living. I wanted this book to be light, but, I'm also aware that having darkness is necessary and hauntingly beautiful. Hence, the title. Maroon, dark and deep. Maroon, like lips that taste of wine in a long conversation. Daydreaming, sweet and simple. Daydreaming, the chasing of light. "Maroon Daydreams" is my little book baby, and I'm so proud that all of these words poured out of me. Enjoy, xx.
