Goodreads asked Deby Adair:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Deby Adair I was once stuck when I was writing the first book of the series... I'd written a lot of short stories and poetry and articles, but a book of over 50,000 words was new to me, even though it was a little book... so I did something pretty crazy... I wrote another short novel to hone my writing style and my writing-thinking... it worked. Writer friends often tell me they can't write, so I say tell them to put it down and write a resume for a friend, a blog, a shopping list... anything really and to get out of the house and leave the computer alone... it'll all come rolling in when it's least opportune, like when you're in the middle of having a shower or buying groceries or driving in traffic, but it will return!
