One thing I couldn't understand: Why did Mrs. Jenkins commit suicide and that too in that hotel?????? What put her over the edge??? A sock which didn't even belong to her daughter!!!!!!!

Tomisha I think it's because that was "proof" that her daughter wasn't coming back. She could've written it more clearly. And it was at that hotel that she received the sock.
