Whenever I embark on a long-term writing project, I find myself becoming bored and unmotivated after a while. How do you maintain enthusiasm and interest when working on your books?
Christopher Paolini
One word: persistence. Writing isn't going to be fun every day and it isn't going to be easy most of the time. The old adage about 99% perspiration/1% inspiration has a lot of truth to it.
Often, I'll sit in front of the computer and just focus on getting one more page done. Listening to music while writing is a helpful tool for me to get inspired or enthusiastic about a scene. Also, if you're writing about something you love or a story you believe in, it can help get through the tough times. You also might enjoy the series of interviews I've done with other authors regarding their writing strategies and experiences: https://www.paolini.net/stuff/guest-a.... Hope that helps!

Not a question, I just wanted to say that you're absolutely amazing and I hope that you're enjoying whatever you're working on now and whatever you decide to work on in the future, whether you return to Inheritance or not. Keep being awesome! Also, since I apparently need a question mark, are there going to be dinosaur aliens in your Sci-Fi?

Christopher Paolini:
Dear Christopher Paolini, I am currently writing a fan-fiction of Eragon (I say this hesitantly not knowing your stance) and I realized that I might need some more words in the ancient language. It might just be me who writes (or tries to) full on dictionaries for her stories that have made up languages, but you wouldn't happen to have written a full dictionary of the ancient language? Thanks! -Michelle
