Being a current creative writer of a historical pirate romance fiction, how did you go about your research for cannon battles, like how would the ball impact the wood of a ship and mutilate the crew?

Eli Brown Much of that was imagination. The nautical details were researched enough to convince the average reader but true sailors have pointed out my several mistakes. Write the scene you want to read, then worry about veracity later.
