Hi Rose,
The idea for the Roanoke family really sprang from the rural Kansas setting. I knew where the story was going to take place and that it was going to involve some gothic undertones. From there, I just thought about crafting a story, and a family, that would mimic the setting: claustrophobic, insular, isolated. I also drew on some of my experiences as a criminal defense attorney, both with victims and perpetrators, to really develop the individual characters. Thanks for the question!

I was through the first awesome chapter of "The Book of Ivy" when I learned there was a sequel. I put the book right down and have waited a few months for "The Revolution of Ivy". I prefer to read books back-to-back if they're a series. Please, PLEASE tell me that Revolution is the last book?
