What a gripping story that must have been Lori. You say you no longer write horror stories but do you read them at all?

Oh, I'm sure it was quite tame by today's standards, but maybe at the time twelve-year-olds weren't so hard to impress! I don't really read horror per se, but I do read a lot of pulps. I especially love Cornell Woolrich, who had his own special brand of creepy/eerie, and whose work I find endlessly appealing - I only wish there were more of it extant :)

Hi Lori I see you are reading The Fatal Shore .... do you have an ancestral connection to Australia? I am a 5th generation Australian with a Shafer ancestor who came here on an assisted migrant ship in 1845. But as the name means shepherd, I guess it was a common one.
