Jennifer Ryan Great question, thank you Lilian. The Chilbury Ladies' Choir was edited by my wonderful editor at Crown Publishing, Hilary Teeman, and then copy-edited before publication. But even before that, plenty of writing friends gave their input, and I'm firmly in the camp that outside advice and suggestions can really help a writer to see more clearly what it is that she or he is trying to convey. The way that I put it is that it helps me to see the wood for the trees, and as an editor I hope to help writers in the same way. Thank you for your question!
