Hi Jacqueline, First, re the mention of options for Maisie, if someone follows through, will you will have some control over how it is done? I love the series & would hate to see a hatchet taken to it. Second, I still find it hard to accept that you killed James, after Maisie has had so many terrible losses and such a help to others. (IMO, not really a spoiler, since it happened several books ago.)

Jacqueline Winspear Regarding the options - well, that's the tricky thing about TV and Film - you think you have some say in it, and then you realize you don't. Its a nail-biting time, I have to say. But of course as a writer of novels, I have to accept that some story points do not translate well into a screenplay, so at times the writer has to go in another direction - my hope is that wide turns bring them back to the overall direction of the series as I have crafted it. Frankly, it's in the lap of the gods. And regarding James? He was always a bit of a boy, and he chose his path - as a character he killed himself.
