Hi Michael, This is Christian. Most likely you dont remember but early on in the year, I had asked if you were going to publish some limited signed editions of age of swords. I have entered into the giveaway but in case I dont win, are you making any of these copies available for purchase?
Michael J. Sullivan
Hey Christian, thanks for writing. You are not the only one who wants limited edition copies of the Riyria books. The issue is I have to buy back the rights from my publisher to do a limited edition run and so there are contracts involved. They DID agree to let me do them, but the contract that came in wasn't in exactly alignment for what we were looking for. We wanted to do both a regular hardcover (that is inexpensive for people to buy) AND a limited edition with a different cover and much smaller press run. When the contract came in it had a provision for just one of those things (can't remember which now), so we are trying to figure out if that was (a) a mistake or (b) they modified our request and are only allowing what the contract says.
It's further complicated by the fact that my editor at Orbit moved to Tor and I'm currently publishing with Del Rey instead of Orbit so getting answers to things are somewhat challenging since I'm a bit of an orphan. Anyway....I do think we will get something worked out. And yes, the intention would be that once those are created I'd do a giveaway for them. I've also done some giveaways for the LIMITED EDITION of Death of Dulgath from time to time (I still have some of those) so keep your eyes open for them as well. I love having LIMITED EDITIONS to do as part of giveaways!

Hi Michal
have you read any Adrian Tchaikovsky's Shadows of the Apt ? think you would like it. (He also wrote 2 fun stand alones) not mentioned in your old challenge list.
thanks for the Boys, more is always better, as long as Robin & Co agree
looking forward to Age of Myth
Did Royce show his softer side in Dulgath in order to illustrate how he was able to grow & allow himself to love and be loved by Gwen?

Have you ever considered co-authoring a book? I think that your writing style would mesh in a wonderful way with Brandon Sanderson. I understand that it could be a huge challenge, but it's been really successful (in my opinion) in the past. Just a wild thought. :)

Thanks so much for writing, You are one of the few authors that I've read who can have an exciting story without somehow compromising the characters or setting. I'm growing curious though, how does Royce get from who he is in The Death of Dulgath, to The Crown Conspiracy? He's obviously the same person, but with some edges rounded off. Will we get to see this happen? Thanks
