TheGooch I'll go first! :-D I put up exit wounds by VK Powell, because I have read all of her work except this one. I love a good crime romance. But I REALLY need to read weeping walls by Gerri Hill, so I'm torn on what to vote for now. dammit!

Cheri I put Wicked because I've had it for YEARS and still haven't read it. It was one of the five free books I got when I bought my very first Sony ereader...

But, after reading the blurb for Firefly, I voted for that. I love the genre and am always looking for new historical lesfic.

Jem I voted for Firefly because it's one of those books that stay with you long after you've read it, like CNV and Charity.

Read the review by Vic to be convinced. It is very long but is very well crafted with no spoilers.

message 4: by Blu (new)

Blu I nominated and voted for Firefly. I've read some very positive reviews, love this sub-genre and would like to try a new author.

message 5: by Jem (new)

Jem If you choose to read Firefly, don't forget to stock up on tissues :-)

message 6: by Vic (new)

Vic Probs a bit soon for me to re-read Firefly just yet, but I definitely recommend it. Such a journey.

message 7: by Luce (new)

Luce I suggested Mending Defects by Lynn Galli. I love her Virginia series but my favorite is her Aspen Friends series. MD is the first and it is one of my go to books that I've reread many times. Her books are character driven and this is no exception. Glory and Lena are credible, funny and I love the friendship that develops into more at a realistic pace. I want to be able sit on Glory's porch and share a coffee or lemonade with them. If this book doesn't get picked - put it on your To Be Read list. I don't think you will be disappointed.

message 8: by Cheri (new)

Cheri I liked Mending Defects, too. It was my first Lynn Galli book.

message 9: by d_fossey (new)

d_fossey Firefly is an amazing book, I've already read it twice. There are some good choices this month, I love both the Blayne Cooper choices, and I'm looking forward to Weeping Walls.

Cheri This is our biggest turn out for voting yet.

message 11: by Pat (last edited Jan 20, 2014 07:27PM) (new)

Pat Bane I read both Mending Defects and Stranded and enjoyed both. I love Gerri Hill so I suggested weeping walls. My partner use to live where FireFly is set. Her house backed up to the Battlefield. I told her about the book and she thought it would be a good read.

Cheri Wow - quite a rush for The Gravity Between Us. I don't believe I've ever seen a book classified as "New Adult." Is that after YA and before... what? Old Adult?

message 13: by Pat (new)

Pat Bane Cheri, I'm OLD ADULT! Ha

message 14: by Cari (new)

Cari Hunter I Wiki-P'ed it:

New Adult (NA) fiction is a developing genre of fiction with protagonists in the 18-25 age bracket. The term was first coined by St. Martin's Press in 2009 when they held a special call for "...fiction similar to YA that can be published and marketed as adult—a sort of an 'older YA' or 'new adult'."[1] New Adult fiction tends to focus on issues such as leaving home, developing sexuality, and negotiating education and career choices.

Don't say I never do nothing for you :-)

Cheri What a great turnout for this poll!

Remember that anyone can set up a Buddy Read for a book that at least two members want to read together.

Thanks for participating in the poll and I look forward to a lively discussion next month!

Shouldn't they call that group just barely legal.
