Hi Asma. It's been a while since I last participated but I'm hoping to be more active next year! On the current poll, would we focus on Iceland alone our would we include all of the Nordic countries?

Hi, Mikki, Iceland is more often associated with Nordic countries than with American or Canadian ones. Since the island is in the North Atlantic/Arctic region, it seemed to me midway between two continents, set out there in the middle of the ocean. From a geographical perspective on a map, the country is probably closer to Europe.
We will read some book from each country in the poll though the focus will be on one of them. But, the Nordic countries overall will need to wait until we revisit Europe/Africa/Western Asia. Btw, we're currently in that region. Now might be the time to read one from northern Europe.
Asma.
Yay Mikki!I am really rooting for Iceland to win, because I am hoping we also read at least one of the sagas. I know of a lot of Icelandic lit but have yet to experience any of it.
Jenny, I'm very interested in what you want to share about Icelandic literature, so am anticipating 2014 very much :)

Me too! :)
Just hour(s) away from the finish, Iceland is slightly ahead in the selection process. There is another vote for Iceland, not automatically added into the results but sent to me by email. Thanks to all who took the time to express their wishes. That such enthusiasm will sustain itself into the middle of the New Year! Happy Holidays, everyone.
