Mary HD I've read the Gewirtz, Grabenstein, and MacNeal books. The Gewirtz book is interesting but flawed, the Grabenstein is mediocre, and the MacNeal title is getting a lot of love as a Printz possibility (including my own very positive opinion).

Ghost Hawk seems out of the running, award-wise. Can you add a few more titles to the mix? (maybe Henkes, Federle, Williams-Garcia?)

Becky Barrier Nelson My concern about Far, Far Away is that the target audience may cause it to more likely be a Prinz candidate.

Agreed that Far Far Away is a candidate for the Printz but the Newbery does include 9th graders. It was also mentioned in our reading threads a few times and I like to include those in the polls.

I encourage write-ins. For the bulk of this poll I was aiming for books that haven't been in the polls yet. The Thing About Luck was added because it was requested by one of our members.

Jenni I read Far, Far Away this month and also feel it is more appropriate for the Printz.
