Carol Royce Owen I would like to recommend we consider reading Wake Up Missing by Kate Messner. I'm reading it now and REALLY enjoying it. Was talking to Donalyn Miller the other day and she gave it 5 stars herself.

message 2: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I'd like for us to consider "Sure signs of Crazy". "What we found on the sofa and how I saved the world"?

message 3: by Jill (new)

Jill In other posts there were so many people who seemed to enjoy "Navigating Early" that I have that one on hold at my library and was going to read that soon. Has the group already done that one?

message 4: by John (new)

John Yingling I voted for Imprisoned, and I would like to make a plea for us to read some nonfiction titles. In the hands of authors such as Steve Sheinkin and Russell Freedman, nonfiction books can be at least as exciting and page-turning as any novel.
And, I would like to echo a comment made last month: two of the titles on the list for October have not yet been published: The Real Boy and Flora and Ulysses will be published tomorrow, and my library system doesn't even have them on order. Obviously, it's difficult to obtain books (without having to make a purchase) that are just being published.

Kristine Such a loud shout out for The Lost Kingdom, if a fantasy book is to be considered - this historical fiction / fantasy is so, so excellent in so many ways!
