So I’m in the need of a book rec.

I’m looking for a book/series that will emotionally gut me but also make me laugh out loud. I want a full roller coaster of emotions. Also compelling characters is a must, I WANT PEOPLE I WILL ABSOLUTELY FALL IN LOVE WITH. Good themes explored as well, uncharacteristically deep reads are the best. I don’t really care what genre it is (honestly the more genres mixed in, the better)

Yes, it’s me—the person who ghosted goodreads after reading a book so catastrophically bad that it made me hate reading altogether and question the entire concept of storytelling. Honestly, it wasn’t just that one disaster—it was a whole parade of trash I’d been suffering through, and this last one? The cherry-on-top-of-a-carcass kind of nightmare.

But fear not! I have returned, slightly traumatized but armed with a brand-new Diwali book haul. Whether I’ll actually read them this year is another story, lol.

Anyway, I digress. Sorry for not replying to messages and stuff. I just logged in, and some of you are honestly so sweet for dropping by just to check on me. I’ll reply to everyone soon, but for now, I just want to say I really appreciate you all, you gorgeous people, so much! 💐

hi, my darlings! i believe most of us have seen the new update that goodreads will be rolling out soon, which will eliminate the messaging system. I love messaging you guys and planning buddy reads and I just don't see how that will be possible with this update. so, i've created both fable and storygraph (although storygraph doesn't have private messages, it has an amazing buddy read system) accounts and would love to continue our connection over there. I don't plan to leave goodreads yet, but it's nice to have alternatives.
