Stacy Lord of the Rings wasn't written by Suzanne Collins...I am sure you know this and it was just a typo...but I thought I would let you know.

message 2: by JP (new)

JP Yes, I did know. Thanks for telling me!

message 3: by Lilac (new)

Lilac I had to vote for Harry Potter (all time favourite) but The Hunger Games and A Song of Ice and Fire are great too! I'm not too keen on The Lord of the Rings, though I've only read Fellowship so far.

message 4: by Rachel (new)

Rachel LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!

message 5: by Mohsen (new)

Mohsen Rajabi LOTR is king!

message 6: by CristinaDraws (new)

CristinaDraws Fifty Shades *///* I just finished it and I'm still not gettting over it.

I do love the Harry Potter series, all of it. Humongous fan, but I doubt it counts as a trilogy lol

The others I haven't read. I started lord of the rings at some point but, differing from the Harry Potter case, that one I discovered only once the first movie was out, and having that packed with action I couldn't stand the much slower pace of the book. I'll get to it at some point.

JP I know is not a trilogy, that's why I wrote "trilogies/book series" I'm currently reading The Hunger Games and I'm loving it, The Lord Of The Rings, well, I once started reading the first book and I liked it but I never finished it, now I want to read The Hobbit and if I like it (and I'm almost sure I will) then I will read LOTR, A Song Of Ice And Fire, haven't checked that one but the synopsis seems very interesting, and the critical reception has been really good :D, but I definitely recommend The Hunger Games, you must read it...

message 8: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Harry Potter!!! Hunger Games with a close second, though.

message 9: by Larry (new)

Larry Page The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov, hey...I'm an old guy!

message 10: by Becky (new)

Becky OMG tooooo hard to choose. I love them in different ways!

message 11: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia aka Taurendil I´ve read only LotR but heard about the others.. So hard to say but I´ll choose Lord of the Rings :D It´s rreeeeaaally good by the way ;)

message 12: by grimple (new)

grimple ᵔᴥᵔ TMI, but HP close second.

message 13: by Karen (new)

Karen Arrgh! So close - it would have to be LOTR followed by A Song of Ice & Fire

message 14: by Shin (new)

Shin Miyamoto The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins! I really love that series.

message 15: by Eva (new)

Eva Though I love the other book a lot ! I would give this to the The Lord of the rings . Many people hav not read The Lord of the ring so guess that's why it has so less votes . But none the less it is amazing if u give it a try .

message 16: by Darcy (new)

Darcy Beckett I Love love all the books soo much and after much thought, my top 2 are hunger games and Harry potter (on the list) but i cant narrow it down any more xx

message 17: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ I would have chosen Divergent if it was on there

message 18: by Lizz (new)

Lizz Night Angel trilogy

message 19: by Meg (new)

Meg Sue-Ellen Welfonder - Highland Warrior Trilogy

I read a lot of series but most are more than three books. This trilogy had it all. Loved it!

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

LOTR is the best out of these, but I like HP more.

I dislike ASOFAI and I am not interested in THG.

message 21: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia I chose Harry Potter, but my all time favorite is Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward.

message 22: by Darci (new)

Darci Larsen The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Hands down favorite. So many fascinating topics she brings out in her writing. The characters are incredible. My sister, cousin and friends who have read them continue discussing them long after we are done reading. We've gone back and read then many times over. We talk about our favorite plot lines, relationships and funny or romantic things that happen. If you start watching it on tv on August 9th, I assure you, you'll be craving to read them all!

message 23: by Aurora (new)

Aurora The Hunger Games or Divergent. I am currently reading TMI COA.

message 24: by Erin (new)

Erin Daughter of Smoke & Bone!

message 25: by John (new)

John That was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made... A contest between J.R.R. and G.R.R.?! That's almost too close to call!

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

A Song of Ice and Fire is amazing. There's blood and fantasy and kick-ass characters. But Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter win any time, because it reminds me of my childhood. Those idyllic and lazy days, reading Goosebumps, borrowing Harry Potter and watching The Fellowship of the Ring. Lord of the Rings is the best out of those two: Villains, plot, character development and all, but Harry Potter is Harry Potter after all.

So sorry, Hunger Games. Nice and all but damn there's no comparison.

message 27: by Zakle (new)

Zakle My favorite series is Winds of the Forelands. It's sort of disappointing that it's not on here.

message 28: by Leonie (new)

Leonie Neither? The Bartimaeus trilogy.

message 29: by Mac (new)

Mac Good try, Hunger Games, (aka my second fav series ever besides Harry Potter)

message 30: by Georgia Low (new)

Georgia Low My favorite is actually The Raven Cycle, but Hunger Games is a close second. I havent finished Harry Potter yet

message 31: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle I'll always put Harry Potter at the top but I definitely loved all the other ones too. For anyone looking for another GREAT series, try The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. It is AMAZING.

message 32: by Ishika (new)

Ishika woah, that's totally a tough one

message 33: by M. (new)

M. P. I'm a little torn between LotR and Harry Potter, but I think I'll vote for Harry Potter just because waiting for each installment with excitement was part of my youth, so there will always be a nostalgia factor that LotR can't satisfy, as I read it when I was much older already.

As for A Song of Ice and Fire, I have yet to read even the first book, even though I bought a boxed set a couple of years ago. The series isn't finished anyway, so even if I had read the books published thus far, I would not be able to say what I think of the series as a whole.

Hunger Games... I loved the first book, but didn't really like the rest of the series as much, and thought it went downhill with each book. I'm obviously in the minority with my opinion, though.

message 34: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Faustina Rachel wrote: "LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!"

YYEEESS!

message 35: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia Going by your list, I would have to say Harry Potter. However, my all time favorite series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward.

message 36: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 11, 2020 10:28PM) (new)

The Hunger Games.

message 37: by Melissa (new)

Melissa The Westmark trilogy by Lloyd Alexander.

message 38: by Alison (new)

Alison M Not sure how to add a new trilogy to the list above but my choice is clear. I would recommend the Xenogenesis trilogy by Octavia Butler (aka 'Lilith's Brood'). Here's what I wrote about it: "The Xenogenesis trilogy is unique. What does it really mean to have sex with someone? What kind of family is needed to nurture babies, and how will you feel if your children are utterly unlike you? There is nothing out there that comes close to this series in its strange, compelling vision of a possible future for humanity. These books are not titillating; they are about survival, acceptance and a kind of loving that is beyond our present experience. I guarantee that if you begin this series, you will not be able to stop until you have devoured all three books".
