That's what I hear. I'm gonna read that one regardless

Oh I'm sorry, was I not supposed to be teaching her that?

Love Lynn Galli. Think we could lure her into doing a Q&A if we tell her she can be her naturally bitchy self?

Lynn Galli in the Q&A would be awesome.

I put Stoner McTavish forward this month because it was probably the first lesfic I ever read! It's funny and sweet, and has a lovely central pairing. I've not reread it for quite a while so it'd be a nice excuse to dust our copy off. Recommended even if it doesn't win the vote.

I read The Pyramid Waltz last month. Endearingly silly, reasonably entertaining - I would've liked it more if it had an ending of some sort instead of turning out to be Part 1 of a series. It's so annoying when books do that without warning.

I'm still pissed about Nightshade which had NO CLOSURE for ANYTHING and the sequel will probably never come out. And, honestly, even if it does, I probably wouldn't buy it now.
I don't think publishers should allow that shit. Unless the sequel is already completed with a scheduled release date. Rat Bastards.

I feel the same way about trilogies. If you know going in it will be a trilogy it is fine, but to find out when the second book is out is annoying.

Right!

Toward the end of each month, I send out an email asking for suggestions and then a few days later I put up a poll like this one. It's too late to make a suggestion for November's selection for the BotM but if you and at least one other person want to read a book and discuss it, feel free to set up a listing under the Buddy Reads section.
If there's a Buddy Read that's already posted that you're interested in, no matter how old it is, jump on in and post. I guarantee at least one other member will join in with you.

I know Lynn Galli in a fan-who-emails-her way. She does reply :)
It is going to be tough to get her, I think. She is very private. I am happy to ask her, however, if her novel is BotM and you want me to, Cheri.

I.would love for her her to chat with us.

Yeah, just say so on the back cover. Maybe authors or publishers think it puts people off? (To be fair, it does put me off. I don't mind a book having sequels but it's better if the "Book One" can stand on its own merits, too.)

Ok, that makes me feel better. Ferox - it's worth a read with the sequel scheduled?

I think enough of us have enjoyed her work that there'll be a buddy read for her new one if it's not picked. I'm certain there would be plenty of questions and comments for her no matter which gets selected.
If you would ask, I know there would be some pretty happy folks. Right Jenny? ;-)

If you like medieval-ish fantasy romance with princesses and magic and monsters and whatnot, yeah. Upsides: it's sweet and good-humoured and quite funny, and I liked the unfortunately-named Starbride - she's a surprisingly nuanced character, as love-interests go. Downsides: it gradually descends into a very silly monster-bashing denouement that didn't leave me agog for part 2. And part 1 spends most of its time setting up mysteries and plot strands that won't get resolved unless you do read part 2.

I think enough of us have enjoy..."
Oh yeah Cheri. I hope she wants to. I think she would be awesome and crack us up.

Do we? So we do! I've not read it though, have you?
Most of us read more than two books a month, yeah, but we don't necessarily want to read two Book-of-the-Month type books every month, if that makes sense. Not that we have to read both to go to the hangout.

Check out the BSB blogsite to read her Amazon Trails. Some of them are quite funny. That's all I've read of hers so far and I always enjoyed them.

I'm keeping my vote where it is but am totally cool with a tie again this month.
Ferox is right about the hangouts. It's much more about the company. And there's nothing wrong with sitting in on a conversation about a book you didn't read. As long as you don't plan to or don't mind spoilers. Come discuss what you did read and then just chat.
