Aloha After nominating The Selfish Gene, I won't be voting. I will be swamped with demanding reads for a while. I couldn't join in on The Hidden Reality read, so I'm going to be realistic and only focus on my major reads.

Betsy Mod
Don't worry about it Aloha. I'm sure there are others who want to read The Selfish Gene. And if it doesn't win this month, you can always nominate it again later when you might have more time.

Aloha Thanks, Betsy.

Noone I voted for Surely you are Joking Mr Feynman

I feel it's interesting,,,

message 5: by Anthony (new)

Anthony I love Feynman, but I've read the book already. I would pick Dawkins but I feel like I already know what he's going to say. Paul Tough it is.

message 6: by Ida (new)

Ida Raine I voted for 'How children succeed' but actually I was torn between that and 'Darwin's ghosts'

message 7: by Michael (last edited Oct 05, 2012 05:01AM) (new)

Michael With "Surely You're Joking..." headed to being picked, we are moving toward the subject of the intersection of science and the personality that lies behind a great scientist. I recommend this wonderful biography as a companion read to help the discussion:
Genius: The Life and Science of Richard Feynman

message 8: by Aloha (new)

Aloha Thanks, Michael. I'll add it to my reading list.

Aloha Oh, I have it. I need to be better about inputting what I have. 3,000 is not enough. Gleick is a good non-fiction writer. I enjoyed his The Information: A History, a Theory, a Flood
