I like reading on my e-reader. I find the tablet too big for reading,and use it for internet/games/etc.

I also love reading actual books, and more often then not read a book on a combination of real book and e-reader.

I have Kindle and I love it, Easy to carry, it's always in my handbag...

I used to have a Nook Color and it changed everything about how I read - but I do a lot of outdoor reading and the glare was distracting. I really wanted something that I could use solely for reading but would still store all of the books I wanted so I didn't have to travel with a ton of novels in my car. I traded in the Color for a simple touch Nook with the e ink and I wouldn't go back now. I love it!

I have a Kindle but I only use it to read about 25% of the time. I can't get away from the traditional books :)

I have an iPad, but it is horrible for reading. Read two books on it and was done. I'm going back to real, tangible books!

I received a regular Kindle for Christmas, and I love it! Now I can carry lots of books with me super easily. The kindle is so light weight!

I've considered reading on my Acer tablet, but my eyes love the e-ink display of my regular Kindle Keyboard for reading. Brightly backlit websites & blogs really strain/hurt my eyes. Therefore, I read on my good ol' Kindle & surf the web, email, & social media on my tablet.

I got a cheap Micro Cruz Tablet around Christmas and I have a link to my local library, so I get as many free books as I can. I seem to devour books now.

I'm torn. I do have a tablet and use it mostly for reading, but I love to have an actual book in my hand as well. Nothing beats that. But it's very convenient with a reading tablet.

Well, I am saving money to get one, but being a poor person and loving books ain't a cup of tea.

I love reading on my e-reader, however I still have many regular novels that I must get to. So I have decided to read a regular and a e-book novel every month to get my regular novel pile down. It's going to be so hard to let my e-reader go for two weeks a month:)

I dislike reading books on my iPad, because the LCD screen strains my eyes, but I loooooooooove reading graphic novels on it (wouldn't it be great if they got their act together about providing better format/pricing to read those).

hubby actually has a kindle and I use it to read books but I prefer real books!

I'm usually reading one book on my Kindle and one in hand at the same time. It just depends on what mood I'm in as to which I'll grab first.

I started reading on my Nook first edition almost 2 years ago and recently upgraded to a Nook Color but I use both primarily for reading and find I read more that I did before and I'm one of those people that's always reading something!

I prefer my kindle DX for reading on. I use my iPad mainly for Internet, movies, that kind of thing. Although I do read some books on it.

I modded my Nook Color and put CM7 on it. I use it for reading almost exclusively. Digital Comics are awesome, and nothing beats having every book in a series in my bag/pocket. I used to be a "real thing" snob but carrying less, and not having to wait to start the next book in line is just too good to pass up. That said, When I love a book I buy it in Hardback because the ambiguitiy of ownership of ebooks is frightening.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't want a kindle, tablet or any other electronic reading device you throw at me. I prefer cracking open a real book. The tablets just can't capture the smell of a book.

I have a nook and prefer it for general reading, but the ipad is handy for reading in bed when it's dark.

I have a Kobo. Is that the same?? I read books on it but don't check my email! :0P lol

What a tricky question is the first. Obviously this is an interested poll. Yes I read books on my tablet, maybe I love it or maybe not.

someone should just sell "new book smell" for spraying kindles and kobos.

I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab primarily as an eReader but I'd be lying if I didn't say I use it a lot for social networking.

I do want a Kindle, but I don't think it could ever replace my love for actual books.

I have a Sony Reader and I like to read on it. I borrow most of the books I read from the library so that limits how many books I read on the Sony Reader. However, whenever I buy a book (usually fiction) or can find a book as an e-book from the library, I usually read it on my Sony Reader. It's so convenient. Before I started reading Persuasion on my iPod Touch (I started reading it on my iTouch at work one day when I left the physical book home), I never thought I would read e-books but after that experience, I realized that books really are the same, no matter what format they're read in!

IMO, reading the printed book is much better than tablet, it has unexplainable sensation.

Why isn't there an option, "Yes I have a tablet, but I don't use it." I have a tablet and I use it occasionally, but I prefer my real books (that I actually OWN, as opposed to an e-reader where you only own "access" to a book).

Licensing a book as opposed to owning it is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed. Some people do address this issue by removing DRM, thus making the e-book file permanently theirs. Some people find this unethical but some people feel that if they shell out money for a book, they should actually own the book. There are also DRM-free books where this is also not an issue.

I technically don't have one, but i read stuff on my phone, and i have the kindle app that i use on my laptop. but i prefer actual books. they are technically less practical, but they are so pretty and classic, and i can't stop myself from using them.

unless you totally need to have a whole toolbox inside your bag, there can always be a space as a niche for a book to carry :)

I don't know that I like all the glare in the tablet. Maybe for reading indoors, but for outdoors I like the e-ink from Kindle.

IA, e-ink is much better for reading outdoor. No glare at all.

Tried reading from a pal's Tablet to figure whether it was worth buyin'. Didn't work for me one bit.

I'd rather spend heavily on buying books. Nothing beats reading from a book. NOTHING!

I read in bed on my tablet. The lighting is better than any booklight I've ever had and I can put the tablet on my torso and lie back and read! During the daytime, I prefer "real" books.

I have a pretty damn good light attached to my bookshelf which is right next to my "reading armchair" :), so no problem with the lighting :P

I have a Kobo Touch, and I do enjoy reading my books on it.

I still have a few paperback books to read, after that, my plan is to stick 100% to ebooks. I do my reading on the iPad2 and honestly, I can't complain. The only thing that annoys me (for long reads) is the weight of the device. Other than that, I set the brightness to a comfortable setting and is all good fun. I love being able to carry many books around and the fact that I don't have to wait for a new book to arrive physically, I can have whatever book I want on my iPad in a matter of seconds. Pure goodness!

i want a kindle fire . but i think i will still read paper books. thers just something about the feel of the paper in your hands..

I read physical and ebooks the same. When I bought my Kindle Fire, I figured I'd used it exclusively for internet, magazines and pdfs and use my old Kindle with the Eink to read books, but I found that I actually enjoy reading on the tablet a lot. I only really use my old Kindle now whenever my battery on Kindle Fire dies lol. But I still check physical books out in the University library regularly.

I use my iPad all the time to read. Love the sepia/brown setting thing... Seems easier on the eyes. I just sold my Kindle because it was collecting dust since I went to an iPad. The only thing missing for the iPad is the ability to create categories where the Kindle could. I do still have physical books, most hard covers, of books I really, really love and will read again or to my child such as Harry Potter.

I have a Kindle Keyboard that I love - no more lugging around a bulkier book, or two if I'm close to finishing one and have another waiting in the wings. Or 5 if I'm travelling!
I do not want a tablet, though. My SO is a mac cultist and bought an iPad 2 last year. It's quite spiffy, but I really don't see the point of having something which combines a netbook and an iPhone, but hasn't the full capabilities of either, especially when I already have both of those.

I have a Kindle, and I read on it only because I can get more books for cheaper than I can in a brick-and-mortar bookstore. However, it's a temporary fix - I plan to some day have an enormous library of actual books. As awesome as the Kindle and my extensive digital library can be, I miss turning pages. :(

Think on this - if anything ever happens to electricity, we'll have to go back to p-books.

The battery life on an e-reader is measured in weeks, even for a heavy user, with the wireless turned off. So, we'd turn our wireless off. If we are without electricity for weeks, we won't be reading--we'll be dealing with survival concerns. Food riots in large cities. That sort of thing.
