don't get me wrong, I love me some jacob.. but it I would've been so pissed if bella went and got herself all mixed in with jacob. I would've stopped reading

The whole reason I was torn over both of them by Eclipse is because there was no pressure with Jake, everything was simple, easy, fun, and she seemed more like herself with him. But I realized that made sense for best friends and family too. Edward was so intense and over protective she couldn't breathe. Jake was young, irresponsible and immature but easy to have fun with because of that, and his great personality! If Jake became irresistable or imprinted Bella, that would have messed up the simple pure dynamic between them and nothing would have ever drawn her to Edward then. Sometimes the one we devote our lives to can't be the easiest relationship. Responsibility and love are not simple but complicated. Devotion goes deeper and lasts longer than getting along all the time and never being challenged.

jacob is an arrogant idiotic loser who likes to show the upper half of his body! i was in tears of anger and agony when bella kissed him in eclipse, so yeah, i would have been pretty pissed off if it was the other way around!

my answer is probably best as an "I don't know" - knowing the series as I've read it now, I couldn't imagine it reversed, BUT if I'd never read it who knows. I like Jacob well enough... and I think he'd be portrayed a little differently if bella was madly in love with him.

Don't get me wrong...love Jake. Sweetheart teddy bear best friend but...
