I remember reading “Rachel’s Tears” when it first came out and I absolutely loved it!! It hit me right in the heart for sure! I might actually still own it…

I remember reading "She Said Yes" after Columbine (Cassie Bernall's book) but I don't think I ever read "Rachel's Tears". I feel like it would be a good inclusion on this list since Columbine was such a defining event during our lifetime.
The Thief Lord may be my second favorite children's novel (after all 5 Penderwicks books, obvs). LOVE that it made the poll!
