Both are fun, Lesle, however, I am leaning towards page count as there is a difference between reading Of Mice and Men and The Count of Monte Cristo 😊

You can add a rule that the books must be over 100 pages to count or not a short story.

Whatever you choose to make as the metric, I will join you :)
There are plenty of short story collections that can make up a hefty read, such as The Stories of John Cheever.Maybe the goal of total books read could be the sum of everyone's 2026 Reading Challenges. Or, the only books that count are from the group's reading list.
