Jeremy Maybe I misunderstood this group, but isn't the Line Tender from 2019 and this ineligible?

I have the same understanding. It was a great book, though.

Pam Page Yes that is not a new one.

Virginia Not new— but definitely worth your while if you haven’t read it! ;)

I'm sure Kristen will remove it soon.

Eli I think it is time for me to leave this group. The majority continues to vote for and offer the same boring authors.

Shella Eli- please don’t leave just keep adding your opinion. I’ve stopped reading some of the monthly choices. I rely on other people in this group to point out recent publications that are not just following their beloved authors. I agree many of the winning monthly choices are disappointing but there are many great people in this group that point out terrific books. It would be great if the recommendations would only be suggested IF that person already read the book. I also think we need to review Newbery criteria and really focus on the meaning of didactic. Would really love a group Zoom meeting to discuss. I can’t post a link because I don’t have an account that goes over 40 minutes. Anyone willing to host?
