No way Winds of Winter will ever be released. He’s too busy being a producer now 😡😡

I have no clue - the same with the nex Locke Lamora installment. But I can definitley say that I would buy all of them :)
I often released the Winds of Winter. Eating more coleslaw and beans helps with that. Currently I'm working on the Winds of Summer.
Here's a great example of how words can hurt more than they seem. In any case the head says one thing while the heart points to another ... Since I have yet to get closer to Rothfuss, I cross my fingers anyway, I vote for the winter breeze (at least I cool down a bit since these days ago hot).
my delusional hope that both will be released sooner rather than later but... that hope isn't that high sadly
George RR Martin is 73. Even if he has the intention to write, it could be too late. And he is happy producing, so.. I would put my money on Patrick Rothfuss (49) being first. But I don’t think either of them will write these books.
I have been living under a rock and have no idea what this poll is all about. But thanks for wanting my opinion.
I genuinely think Doors of Stone could have been released already. But PR is a compulsive editor. (His own words). He doesn’t think it’s perfect enough. And that’s truly sad. There was a to-do I think in 2020 or 21 with his editor about her not seeing any sight or word of DOS and it was kinda dramatic since she kinda flayed PR. Without regard to his OCD. GRRM is done with it. He said himself that we should read his other works rather than focus on what isn’t out. Kinda disrespectfully as well. But alas! The reality might be neither, and we’ll get some form of them post mortem. (Shudders, morbid thoughts)
All I know is that I’m never going to read anything by RR Martin ever again. He left us hanging, didn’t care at all about his readers once the TV show got started. He’s rich. He doesn’t care.
I wish I had hope that at least one of these will be published but at this point I don’t think either will be until they are no longer with us and someone else finishes them 😭

The only thing that keeps me from despising him is the fact that producing a tv show was his lifelong dream. Apparently he used to be a writer for tv shows (e.g. Twilight zone) and he pitched shows akin to GOT & was rejected due to scope. Told it was too large in scope, to compromise & choose one or the other. Like, if u want the dragons, leave out the battles. Or if you want the battles leave out the drama. Etc etc. And so he turned to novel writing where he was not restricted & hindered & could create worlds & stories as he pleased. So when eventually GOT was made into a tv show, he was actually fulfilling that lifelong dream of his.
So that makes it a little more palatable for me personally, just knowing that he didn’t just sell out for the big screen bc in reality that had always been his goal. But I still think it’s still obnoxious, & that he’s not showing any loyalty to all the devoted fans that helped make GOT popular enough to see his dream of a tv show realized.
What I don’t understand, is if he’s able to spend the time writing “prequels” like Fire & Blood, why not spend the writing WoW instead??!
