It is not a requirement at all! I am doing a buddy read in July and may not get around to this but it just gives some of us a book to talk about as we read it together. Please don't feel pressured to read it if you don't want to!
BOTM is basically Book Of The Month. Every group has a different way of determining one. So yes, the group members read it together- but it's not necessary.
Or is it something else??
