Adding DMR as a choice is perfect. DMR has a consistent track record for publishing awesome new titles. There are so many new and reprinted titles to choose from.

Adding Keith Taylor's Bard series is also a great option especially since all five have been reprinted with a sixth being penned right now. Keith recently did an interview with Brian Murphy that was posted on the DMR blog. Definitely worth a look.

This makes for a very hard choice.

I voted pastiche because I'm finally going to read the much-praised Hocking novel Conan and the Emerald Lotus

On a lark I looked up Conan and the Emerald Lotus just to see what prices copies are bringing now...holy cow!

For so many people to publicly disdain the Tornan books, why are some so costly and hard to get your hands on?

And does anyone have current info on Perilous Worlds and their printing debacle?

Grabbed a used copy of "Bard" on a whim from a Goodwill in Oregon years ago -- mainly because i loved the cover. I'd love an excuse to finally read it!

Richard, re: Perilous Worlds' Hocking pastiches...the most current hubbub I heard was far from hopeful. I recently grabbed a ~$40 of Emerald Lotus.
