So I didn't comment much on this game though I enjoyed reading everyone else's comments, because I just couldn't wrap my brain around how the music tied into the books - but I wanted to add these were all great picks. I have Unconquerable Sun so I'm kind of bummed that didn't win but I also didn't vote for it..,. lol.

Beth, thanks for that! I know lots of people who absolutely loved Unconquerable Sun, and that's why I felt it was OK to include it. But maybe it wasn't just my 2020, and possibly I should give it another chance later, when more books in the series are out? What I took in, I liked, but it was too much work for my 2020 brain!

Ariana, please let us know when you're further along if you still think it fits! :D

I'm so happy Lord won, and won this way of all ways, and that we had the same level of participation we get on normal months!! I don't mean to crow, but humblebrag, my co-mod thinks of great things!

Anna I don't think it's you or the game - which I loved - I think it's just my brain. I have a very hard time thinking outside my own box (and also I'm a terrible listener- I need to read it or write it to retain it).

But I loved the set up of the polls because I think it prevents us from prejudging the books. I do own The Best of All Possible Worlds so I'm going to try and join for both the polls I've just been in a reading funk for the past year or so... lol

I totally get that! I could never have done what Allison did, I might know the characters inside out, but I could never step into their shoes (mouth? brain?) and speak for them. That was part of what I loved about this theme, that we both took it to a completely different direction and almost made it two themes :)

I completely forgot to say that The Best of All Possible Worlds is narrated by the magnificent Robin Miles, and as usual, she shines! Although the story doesn't take place on Earth, it is Caribbean inspired, and I personally love listening to Miles voice Caribbean characters.

She also narrates the companion book, The Galaxy Game, which is currently on Audible Plus. They take place in the same universe, and the protagonist of GG is a side character from Unikitty, but other than that, they're very different books!

edit: A day later, just to clarify, this isn't Caribbean scifi in the same way that say Midnight Robber is, I was just rambling about Miles and her lovely narration.

This is me running to use my audible credit. I love Robin Miles' narration!

I will try/buy pretty much anything SFF-adjacent if it's narrated by her!

Ahhh~ Once revealed, they certainly make sense. The only one I was familiar with was The Gate to Women's Country. I feel like I should have been able to guess it if I dug around enough.

Unconquerable Sun is the the one that looks most interesting to me, but I'm both baffled and intrigued by The Best of All Possible Worlds, so I may have a go at it.

Haha, yep! At least it means there is some fellow interest, so perhaps there might be takers at a future date.

I voted for the winner on this one, and the runner-up on the fantasy poll. Not bad! I've been wanting to read something of Lord's for while, so I'm glad her book "was Unikitty."

I'm ecstatic that Lord is now on the shelf! ^_^ I "met" her in Helsinki during Worldcon75 (2017) and she is the loveliest person!
