I voted for '2', because, although it seems a little bit dour and depressed, like Bobby I also like unlikely heroes and people just doing their best in the situation and ending up saving the day, just from that. Not a real fan of dragons/similar as the perspective character, though. (Okay as companions). Also, there seems to be a band of friends in it, and things about forests.
It's also more of an elimination - I'm not keen on 1, 3 or 5, and although at first I liked 4, they said they liked books with lots of pictures : O / implied they don't really read (maybe they just never had the chance, which is sad), and I don't know about non-book-lovers. Not sure we can be friends. Also sort of big-headed and maybe into slapstick or similar humour?

I'm still torn between #1 and #4.

#1, you had me at fantasy of manners. Sneaking about, stolen identities. What's not to love?

#4 Sounds like just so much fun. Sassy and petulant, it makes me want to ruthlessly tease them. I imagine a great deal of laughter and quippy banter reading this one. With all that eyebrow waggling and wicked thieving shenanigans, I suspect it'd be a crowd-pleaser.



At the same time, #2 does sound like a sweet cinnamon roll, with that set-upon attitude of resignation. Sarah I agree it'd be fitting after a very trying 2020. And although I generally shy away from horror or urban fantasy, #3 sounds like just the friendliest, most adorable kind of horror I know. Allison's mention that it would make such a good discussion book make me tempted. #5 I have the least firm grasp on, but the humor and adventure sure sound---

I would totally play a form of this game again, given the opportunity and interest. Different users each representing a Buchelor would make it less of a burden on a single person, but then again, half the fun was watching the Buchelors interact.

I'm lodging a guess for Buchelor #2 (view spoiler)[ The Raven Tower (hide spoiler)] because I can't pass the opportunity to guess something and this required the least shoe-horning to fit the clues.

That said, I'm changing my vote to Buchelor #4 because I can't resist the lovable ex-con and I want to read that ship fic!

I've read 3/5 and based on that I'm (personally*) pretty happy with the current top two :) Something extremely radical would have to happen for one of them not to win.

Anna, I think there's only the one book you absolutely 100% would not like, but you should read the other because I think you'll really enjoy that one, too!
