Roslyn Reid It really depends on what level the subject is. Learning about the Federal Reserve is more difficult than figuring out which CD to purchase.

Just Fin I also think it's really a question of the manner in which it is taught! A good teacher who focuses more on concepts, rather than abstract terminology can make it much easier to learn. At the heart of it, finance is very simple and easy to understand. Often, it's the books and the teachers that complicate it unnecessarily.

Archit Hi Anthony, thank you for inviting me.

Being a person who works in the field of Finance, I can safely conclude that it has been made complicated by people.

Finance, in itself, is a discipline encompassing areas like Accounting, Personal Finance, Trading in markets etc.

And I candidly tell people that I have not mastered these areas. I am still a student of Finance!!

Cheers and I hope everyone is having a joyous New Year!! Happy Reading and Learning!

Good points Archit!

Finance has certainly been made overcomplicated. Much of my work starting from "The Necessity of Finance" focused on rethinking and simplifying that overcomplication. The word "finance" itself has developed many meanings over time. Thanks for commenting! :)

Good point Roslyn! Some topics like derivatives are more complex than others.

Good points Just! As Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid says: "No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher." :)
