I've never heard of this author before so I just voted for the one with the shorter waiting list at my Library... although I put them both On Hold just in case. :)

I'm wondering why one is the 4th book in the series, seems an odd place to start. Would love to read the series from the beginning though since I've read, and love, the other one!

from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hainish... :
Le Guin herself has discounted the idea of a "Hainish Cycle", writing on her website that "The thing is, they aren't a cycle or a saga. They do not form a coherent history. There are some clear connections among them, yes, but also some extremely murky ones."
Yes, I have read only about two of the Hainish Cycle books, and another of short stories set in the world. They are all pretty stand alone, they're mostly called that to indicate they're all set in the same universe. There's no real order to them, aside from the order they were written
Have read one of these and it was very interestibg, so I voted for the other so I have a good excuse to read it, too!
I know we read The Dispossessed for a sci-fi lit class I took in college and I had no idea it was listed as part of a larger cycle until I was looking at it today!
