I've read Homo Deus. I've given it only three stars, but it is a very popular and important book that is worth reading at least so you can talk about it with everyone else who has read it.
Dava Sobel's Glass Universe should also be great. Her other books are really good, especially Longitude, and this book was on many to-read lists when it came out about a year ago. It looks like a really engaging story.
A Crack in Creation also looks fascinating. I've read about the CRISPR program in a couple of the other books I've read recently about genes - I think it was in Siddhartha Mukherjee's The Gene or Sam Kean's The Violinists Thumb. It would be great to read an inside account to this Nobel worthy program.
