I read Barrayar 1st and then immediately went looking for Shards of Honor. I think because of that I'll always rate Barrayar slightly higher but both are excellent.

And honestly, while I like all the Vor books, I like these two about Cordelia even more. Barrayar was special. Shards of Honor very good.Barrayar is one of the sci/fi I've retained a love of over the years and have reread it several times - along with Fire Upon The Deep, The Pride of Chanur and Brin's Uplift series.
Me, too. I really like Cordelia, even more than I like Miles.

I think this is a near perfect little introduction to the world of Miles. The story was compelling, even if it did take second stage to the romance that was Cordelia and Aral. It's well-written and tight, with excellent characterizations.

I started the book but couldn't finish it. I couldn't get into it. It is a good book, it was just not my thing.
