I'm planning on rereading The Dark Tower series by Stephen King and I'm debating if I should tackle the Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly or the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. Along the way I'm going to add some Romance and a few Thrillers as well. Good reading everyone!

Since I'll be busy writing my Bachelor Paper for uni I won't have as much time to read as I'd like. Then there also the scouts camp in July and the exam resits in August. I just hope to read about 3 books this summer. That goal should be reachable! (:
I plan on my usual 3-4 books a month, but am mostly looking forward to finally having time to tackle Wally Lamb's We Are Water. It has been in my Kindle library a long time now, but with the mixed reviews and the shear length of his novels, I haven't gotten around to reading it. The beach is the perfect place to do that.
I want to read 25-30 books this summer. I average 9.5 books a month so that should be about right over three months of summer. I plan on reading Lansdale, Silverberg, Mark Lages and a good bit of Hard Case Crime books.
I figure I can do at 15 but I aim for 20. I like to read outside on my patio but sometimes I get distracted watching the birds and butterflies but I hate reading inside when the weather is so nice.
I've read 31 books so far this year in my reading for pleasure challenge for this year so we'll see how many I get to by the end of the year though. ^_^
I'm not too organised, when it comes to choosing books to read, but if it's a hot summer, then perhaps a big-sized book, to help waft a bit of breeze and swat the flies...
Seriously though: anything - as long as it is a good, enjoyable read. Even Henry The Happy Lamb Skips Across Manor Farm (ok, so I wasn't that serious).

Ah, I'm going to aim low. 3-5 books. Mostly because I'm going to be volunteering most of it and I can't read when I'm tired. Also most of the books I have are kind of in the bigger size. Hopefully I'll reach five
I've read 140 novels so far this year. My target is 300 for 2017. If I'm to keep on course, during the summer I'll have to read 80 to 90 books. I will start the summer (Memorial Day) with Commonwealth by Ann Patchett.
Jimilyn wrote: "Definitely over 20, but not sure exactly how many I'll finally read. At least that's the goal. Just finished Beartown. Currently reading The Big Leap. Next up is Moloka'i. Not sure after that. Prob..."Loved Moloka'i!
I'll read at least 6, 2 each in June, July, and August. I might read more than that, but I'm really busy with work and taking classes online.
20 books or more would be amazing but honestly, I've got so much planned for this summer ugh :( here's hoping next summer will be the summer I read over 20 books
I would like to read at least 15 books this summer. I will be reading plenty of the Rebecca Caudill Books for the state of Illinois and new young adult books. Being a teacher rocks! I will also start with a couple of books for myself: The Further Adventures of An Idiot Abroad and Crazy is My Super Power from AJ Mendez.
I'm like definitely reading more than 20 books because that's just how I use up my summer free time usually
I am trying to finish some stuff on reading challenges and go through some of my books in my personal library. That's all I've planned. Unless, I get bored. Then maybe will go to library or something.
Gosh. Who cares how many books people plan to read in the summer? I don't believe projected quantity tells you anything at all. Reading is something different for each person, and I in no way spend the same amount of time on each book (and of course life happens in there too). So enjoy what happens...reading is not a race or contest. No end date-we will always have more and more books lined up to read. The greatest challenge is what you are in the mood to read.
I am going to have a super busy summer...i have my thesis and my apperenrticeship so i think 6 to 10 books is going to be a reasonable amount ... It may become more considering my 2017 challenge being 20 and im already 14!!!I want some philosophy and historical books...i mean i dont want to read novels and romance...i want something that will add to my knowledge....i want to learn something new!!!
Sarah wrote: "My reading stays pretty consistent throughout the year. Each month I read round 21 books."0good for you!!! There was a time i had the same book reading rate but now...

My 2017 goal was 150 books and I'm currently at 155.... sooooo, I'm saying 21+ for the summer. I have done to the "dark side" and can usually listen to at least a book a day on audio. As far as what I'll be reading, I hope to continue a couple series and pick a few James Patterson books as well. I will also be looking for some books for challenges, so who knows what I will end up reading.
This is going to depend on how long the books are and how much work these required online classes for my job are. My current aim is one a week and two while on vacation. This puts me around ten which will be a personal best since becoming an adult. But if I choose to start the Outlander books it might be closer to 5-6.

I am well on my way to meet my reading challenge for the year and I expect my summer will be no different--reading is important to me and I love it. There are hundreds of books on my list to read and more being added daily.
My summer will be full of University appointments (I have exams until the 7th of July! and during these hot days I will write my translation disseration!) but anyway, I will try to carve out some time for reading. I will start with Patrick Ness's "A monster calls" and I don't know what I will read after that book: I was thinking to read something like fantasy and Young Adult, because I started to re-read Fantasy novels and I want to discover some great trilogies!
My goal of the year is to read 40 books, and I'm at 14 books at the moment (I'm finishing Virginia Woolf's "Mrs Dalloway" in these days) and I'm happy about it! Let's see how my summer reads will go!
I vote reading 20 books or more but i'm kinda confused about how long actually summer is since in my country (Indonesia) we only have summer season in along of year. haha actually we have two season along of year. summer and rainy season. every single days just like summer season for me since the temperature around 28-33 celsius degrees XD
I'm not sure about books I will read this summer. All I know is that I'll read. In June I surely want to finish the Rick Riordan's series about Latin Gods (I read only first book). Than I'd like to read everything, but it is not possible! We'll see.
I just checked, and I read ten in May and nine in April; so guess I will read 25 or more June through August.
I will be reading more than 21 definitely! I so love books and the wonderful adventures in each one!
I average 7-10 books a month regardless, and with summer, I have 2 months of work with no one else in my building and nothing to really do but occasionally answer the phone. So I anticipate being able to knock out a bunch of books. 30 at minimum, but probably more.
it just so happens that with my inability to stomach the news and current events any more, my reading has gone WAY up. so i'm definitely going for 21 books or more!!!!!!!
I'm sure i will read more than 20 books this summer. I plan to go on a TJ Klune reading binge. Oh yeah I'm also definitely gonna read the newest books to come out in The Black Dagger Brotherhood series and The Lords of the Underworld series...The Darkest Promise, The Chosen, The Lightning-Struck Heart, The Queen & the Homo Jock King, Tell Me It's Real, Withered + Sere, Crisped + Sere ,Wolfsong
I don't know if I'll hit more than 20 books this summer... I only set my yearly goal for 75 books in the hopes that I'd spend more time writing instead of reading. Still, I'm totally on track for the 75 at least. As for what I'm reading? Daughter of Fate by John Wick is my current obsession. It's awesome.
This summer has been a very hot time for me. I got married just a few days ago and before that, I spend almost a month of winter with sickness. Come summer I was busy with my marriage preps and I never thought it would be this much fun.Still, I managed to read this books:
1. SuperWomen by Prachi Garg
2. SuperCouple by Prachi Garg
3. Bloody Valentine by James Patterson
4. House at the corner by Enid Blyton
5. The BFG by Roald Dahl
& I plan to read a few more in the coming days before Summer comes to an end by mid-June.
How are you guys doing?

I really want to read 20 books (or more!) this summer so I can compensate my busy uni months! However, if I read 15 I will be really proud!
Alessandro wrote: "I would love to start I am Pilgrim. Let me know how it is when you finish it! :)"I will definitely let you know how it is! I'm very close to finishing it, so you can expect to hear about it in the next day or two :D
Kat wrote: "Mine too... maybe Goodreads needs to do a #WinterRead for us who live in the Southern Hemisphere "
I think that would be an awesome idea! It's always fun to participate in these things, just weird when they're hemisphere specific :/
Wendy wrote: "I read I Am Pilgrim a while ago. It's a BIG book - really enjoyed it though!"
This book is huge! I want to say one of the biggest I've read but I could also be wrong about that - it is really awesome so far! I'm just over halfway through it.
Max wrote: "That book is truly awesome to read, good luck!"
It is so great so far! I'm just over halfway and at one point refused to put it down; struggled through the first 100 pages but now I'm hooked!
