The Shining is absolutely the best. And far better than the movie with Jack playing Jack, as per usual...
Pet Semetary:King did some major research about mortuary science; at the time of reading it, I was working in a funeral home, so it really hit home, although I did enjoy It immensely.
Isn't Shawshank only a short story? I haven't read it but the movie was great. The Dark Tower series was almost one of the best fantasy series of all time... Till he completely fucked it up and made himself the center of the universe. He went nuttier than Herbert did with Dune, it was quite a let down.
I don't quite fancy fantasy so I haven't read the Dark Tower series, and I haven't been able to find The Stand in the library. The Green Mile is good, but I think it was only really captivating towards the end. Whereas Shawshank had me hooked right from the beginning.
Carrie was disappointing. I'm surprised it made the list.
So... it's a toss between Shawshank and The Running Man.
And what about Cell and The Mist? Those are good.
My favorite novel was actually Misery, but since it wasn't listed I picked The Stand, which was also pretty freakin' epic.
It's a toss up between The Stand and The Shining and I voted for the The Shining because I remember more of it even after some 20 years, which may be because of the movie.
My all time King favorite will always be Eyes of the Dragon, which was written for King's daughter... but definitely a story tale only King could write! One of my favorite books of all time! Very overlooked, but when you come upon it, it really gets you!
Misery. Though off this list, I guess Running Man, which was way better than the movie. The Long Walk is an excellent short(ish) story from his early years.
On this list, I chose Shawshank Redemption (which is in the book Different Seasons), but I really like The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Looks like I am the only commenter who likes that one!
Shawshank Redemption is amazing, but it's not a book itself, so it didn't get my vote. If Different Seasons was here, though, I wouldn't be able to choose.

The one I would have chosen wasn't listed. 'Gerald's Game' oddly enough. I read it while I was very ill and feverish, and it changed me as a person little. It truly frightened me. Don't get me wrong his books are all pretty great. but that would've been my answer to this poll.
