Barbara Looks like The Jacaranda Tree may be tricky for Americans to get....

Val It is not that easy in the UK either, but it looks good and worth trying to find. It is not on kindle and the latest publication date is 2006. There are some second-hand copies about though, so it should not be impossible to get one.
Can you access the Peninsula Public Library service Barbara? They have it listed, otherwise it seems to be mainly in academic libraries in the US.

I've just had a look at the US version of Amazon and it looks like there are second hand copies available there from $7.58. I appreciate that not everyone is keen to pay for group reads but do take Jan's advice and look in public libraries.

I'm in California, so I don't think that's going to be much help. There is a copy at my local university, but I would have to pay $20 for a library card there, so I think I'll pass. Might get a used copy for about $12 (which includes shipping). Most available copies are shipped from the UK and could take up to 3 weeks to get here. I'll probably skip reading this unless the discussion makes it sound like it's un-missable.

Val This one, in California but may not be close enough to you: http://catalog.plsinfo.org/search/?se...

PS If you can only get a copy by shipping a second-hand one across the Atlantic, it is probably not worth bothering. It takes ages and by the time it arrives it is too late to complain about any problems.

Barbara Thanks, Val. That's a couple hours drive away, so I won't try that. I will talk to my library about interlibrary loans though. I've never done that so don't know how it works. If that fails, I'll just follow the discussion here and not read the book.
