I believe I'll read Kloos. I've reread all the others fairly recently.

I've read and liked all these...but I voted for Terms of Enlistment.

Clarifying question if I may -- I notice that "Gust Front" is #2 in a series. Does it stand up well on its own or should I read #1 first?

Read #1 first. That series has several books with an arc. Just my opinion if course.

One more question: from the description, 'terms of enlistment' doesnt' sound very ... human wave ... it sounds quite dystopic. Is that just a case of the description not being very descriptive?

My problem with it was that I found it rather -- meh. The society's not pleasant, but the characters do try to do things.

The situation is not quite dystopian. The book's story is set in a very depressed society. This is the society humans have when the are confronted by implacable aliens.

I'll give a bit more detail under a spoiler warning:

(view spoiler)[It opens with a young man in a very financially depressed and very rich vs. poor society where one way out is to join the military.

So he does. We follow him and during his service (maybe a third of the way into the book) humans are confronted by an alien species that can seemingly brush us aside almost as pests. The young man in question is among the humans who first meet these aliens. From there the situation reflects both what is happening among humans and the aliens moving swiftly toward Earth colony by colony. (hide spoiler)]
