And that's why we should not keep polls in anonymous mode-_-

message 8: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Arpit, I know who changed it. Not because I made it. I also see it in anonymous mode, but I know who can change from Farewell to arms to Mice and Men :-)

message 9: by Rahul (new)

Rahul Lead of 3 ^o^

message 10: by Doree (new)

Doree I chose The Litigators since it is the only one I have not read, and because I could use something a little more light-hearted.

message 11: by Rahul (new)

Rahul wrote: "Farewell to arms is another WW scenario. ̄へ ̄"

Haha....but it's different. It's Hemingway.
And not about WWII.

Plus, alas, it's not winning.

Aarti wrote: "I want to read Farewell to arms :(

We can BR it. Although, I'd suggest you to read "Of Mice and Men" too.

Pinky promise. I nominated it because I am going to read it :D :D

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay! When you will be done with Of Mice and Men and I with A Suitable Boy, we will be BR it :)

message 31: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Okiess! :-)

message 32: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat It's funny how this month both novels that are head to head in the polls are American Classics :)

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Karolina wrote: "It's funny how this month both novels that are head to head in the polls are American Classics :)"

It would be more funny if they would be Hemingway and Faulkner :P:P

message 34: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat @Arpit indeed :) Although after reading As I Lay Dying I plan to never return to Faulkner.... ever!

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit: "We can BR it. Although, I'd suggest you to read "Of Mice and Men" too."

I am alwayz ready :)

Wow, so now Aarti, Gehna, Sid and I are going to read Farewell to Arms from 25th of April.
Anyone else wants to join?

message 37: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat If I am not reading anything else at the time, I'll join you :)

message 38: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis It is going to be a nice BR :-)

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Gehna wrote: "It is going to be a nice BR :-)"

Yeah, it's gonna be awesome.

Wish we can drag Gorab, Mayank and Manasa too. Try it, Ginny.

message 40: by Gorab (new)

Gorab I'll skip the BOTM and join you guys for this by 25th. The blurb doesn't looks that bad.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Gorab wrote: "I'll skip the BOTM and join you guys for this by 25th. The blurb doesn't looks that bad."

In that case, I'd suggest you to read Of Mice and Men based on your taste as far as I know.
For Hemingway, you have to FIND the meaning between the lines (Google ice-berg theory of Hemingway), while Mice and Men is an easy and interesting read:)
Choose wisely, buddy.

message 42: by Gorab (new)

Gorab "Meaning between the lines"....
I'll have to wait then. Sometimes I fail to grasp the meanings even when they are direct. Forget between the lines :P :P
Thanks for the heads up Arpit. Yes I do trust your recommendations.

But you didn't tell us that whether you would read Of Mice and Men or not.
Anyway, if you do, then don't read blurb, reviews and stay away from spoilers. It would be more fun without any information:)

message 44: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Arpit, I shall try to drag them for sure :-)
