Under a Painted Sky is really good! I was impressed with the author's ability to make the story historically plausible while still being entertaining.
Right now I'm currently reading RIDER by Veronica Rossi. It is really good -- About the four horseman except it's not centered around the apocalypse. Intriguing so far and very well written.
