Cheryl Russell It varies really but this month must have bought over 10 so far. Goodreads recommendations are too tempting and have seen loads mentioned in Facebook groups that look good. I'm just hopeless book addict

books everywhere, lol... too tempting and I can't definitely resist :)

message 3: by Julia (new)

Julia Kopitar I've bought about 8 this month! I try to at least add 4 a month to my collection.

message 4: by Rikke (new)

Rikke 17 this month, but preorders mostly, so some of them won't actually be mine until February, March and April.

message 6: by Rikke (new)

Rikke Too many! The Dark Days Club, Front Lines, Never Never: Part Three, Cruel Crown, Glass Sword, Salt to the Sea, Riders, The Girl from Everywhere, Unhooked, Eleanor, The Winner's Kiss, Wink Poppy Midnight, Fellside, The Raven King, Pax, Broken Dolls, Imaginary Boy, and Tonight the Streets are Ours..
And that makes 18! I better do my best to buy less, At least until the last of them has arrived, and I've read it too..

I averaged my yearly total. Some months I buy more than others. And my bookshelves are totally out of control. I even have a closet dedicated to books. I'm trying not to buy any books this year. I'm already fighting the urge and January isn't even over!

I really think I might be a book hoarder.

Cheryl I had to choose 1-4 but the real answer is none. I work at a library and have always used the library religiously...well more than religiously because I can't remember a week where I have only been there once. Even if I had all the money in the world I would get my books from the library....why pay for books when the library can save you so much? There are still some I insist on owning...like the harry potters, but in general...0 books bought each month.

How do you manage to survive without buying books? lol :)

It's only been 14 days. Ask me in December. Right now I'm not sure I can do it. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of telling my husband. If I cave, I'll have to face his teasing.

It's a good point actually! Personally speaking I like to collect books, special editions and even old books if I can get my hands on something good :) that's why I like buying them.
I do love libraries, my favs are the NYPL on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in Manhattan and the BPL on Boylston, Boston. :)

Rikke The Raven King is one of my most anticipated reads ;-) The Winner's Kiss too..
Although I love collecting books, I'm pretty sure I would use the library a lot as well, if I didn't live in Denmark, where new or newer Books in English aren't easy to come by. At least not if you can't wait a long while.. And I often find that difficult, especially because a lot of the books I want, won't necessarily be on the librarians' to-buy list anyway.. It would be awesome if they were, though, but my country is probably too small:-)

Denmark is a lovely country :) but yeah, finding english books can be quite impossible sometimes.
I guess the best way is online shopping :(

message 15: by Rikke (new)

Rikke Exactly! But I do buy a good part from iBooks and Kindle too, especially the older ones, and fortunately I enjoy that format as well. Sometimes I even prefer it, because it's so easy to highlight and make notes :-) The ebook has to be a lot cheaper, though, and one I'm uncertain about, otherwise I'll always choose the actual book. Because if I love the ebook, I'll end up buying the book anyway... I guess I'm silly that way *sigh*
