Didn't Log Horizon and SAO come out around tge same time? I think you're thinking SAO and Accel World, which are by tne same author.
We haven't read Log Horizon as a group. A member started a discussion for the series, but no official Group Read has occured. :)

Actually, I believe SAO was originally released in 2008, as an online release or for a contest. I can't remember. Log Horizon came out in 2010 though. You might be thinking of the anime which both likely started around the same time. I'm not positive on that for sure though. I don't really watch anime.
I should add though that, while the two series are often compared, their approach to the concept is very different. SAO is a story about surviving in foreign conditions. In Log Horizon there is no threat of death. It's more about the interactions between the characters and how they work together to make a new life within the game. I haven't read Log Horizon (this is just how it's been described to me) and while I haven't read SAO Progressive either it sounds (also from what I've been told by reddit) like it goes in more of the direction of Log Horizon. That is trying to elaborate on the interpersonal relationships of the characters and how they've adapted to their new living conditions. I guess in a way you could say that SAO is a successor to Log Horizon in that regard.
Mm, the only one I would like is Shinigami no Ballad... but that series was cancelled at book 2 in English, so finding them will be really hard. :(

Wow, really?
*looks it up*
It looks like despite Seven Seas Entertainment still listing it, it's impossible to actually get... >_<

Yep. I am still really sad about it. I found out some years ago, and I just wish they would have continued. I loved the anime.
Now if only SSE would update their site and state that the book is cancelled/not being printed any more.

I know! Then maybe someone else would pick it up.
I wonder if they even still have the rights to it. You'd think they'd release it as an E-book if they still did.

Could always start a buddy read for it. :) I just think it'll be too tough to get a group read together if people have trouble getting the book.

Yeah, that's understandable! ^_^ Sorry I went off like that, it's been quite a day and I looked at the situation in an asymmetrical fashion.
