there are some good picks here. i've been wanting to read more horror. maybe instead of winner take all, we could do instant runoff voting, so there's less of a chance that a lot of people get stuck w/something they don't want to read.

Well, things stick around from read to read. It's not like things are struck from the list when they don't win. They've got a chance to win next time.

Rankings make things far too complicated to count the votes and as I learned at my old college's anime club, too easy to fudge the numbers.

We'll just stick with things the way they are, since that's the easiest for everyone to understand. And because GR provides no good way to actually do the ranking system. Lists can't be limited to just our group, nor can you stop people from adding books that aren't appropriate. Nor can you make it for a limited time.
