Poll

Poll: May/June 2015 Group Read

The poll is now open for the May/June 2015 group reads.

Voting will run through the 14th, winners will be announced and new group read threads will be opened on the 15th. Good luck!

Just a couple of things to remember before you go and vote:

1) Do not cheat or manipulate results. It is not acceptable to create fake accounts to vote in this poll, nor it is acceptable to invite people to the site for the sole purpose of voting for a book in this poll. It is also not acceptable to ask for votes or influence the poll in any way. If the moderators feel that a group read poll has been manipulated, the book in question will be disqualified. If the moderators feel that the user(s) are fake accounts, these will be reported to Goodreads for further review.

And, please remember: if your nomination wins, you will become the moderator for that book's discussion.

Tom Mathews Okay, all you Veronica Mars fans. You've had years to grieve the end of Veronica Mars, the TV series, but now you no longer have to. Now, if you cast your vote for The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line, you can enjoy Veronica Mars, the book series.

Scott Ivlow For fans of Mario Puzzo book and movies of the God Father series. The Prince is based on the true story of a Sicilian mobster that moves to New York. This was first published in Italian and translated in English.

Bookie I voted, First Night of Summer...I saw this author's interview on TV and was very impressed with his purpose of raising an awareness of domestic issues through fiction. :)

Just have to hope it's better than the movie was...

I didn't vote for it, but I did just buy a copy to see if it merits the hype. If I hate it, someone can have my copy.

M. Dobson This one is incredibly difficult. Ken Follett's is one of my favorite thriller classics that is full of suspense and has a strong female lead (for the time). The Girl On the Train is a terrific modern read with a hint of Gone Girl (although I haven't read that) and I enjoyed the premise and the complex characters. Ruth Rendell's, given her recent death and that I've never read any of her books, is probably where I'll vote. The Veronica Mars, since I write YA crime fiction, should be a given. (We don't normally do YA, and I assume this is.) Baldacci is a personal favorite and I'm reading it already, but I have the time at the moment to explore something new. it has good strong new characters and is a nice police drama, and always satisfying.

But these days I read to learn and become a better writer. Help me decide where to vote? I am at a loss...

And then I think I accidentally voted for Eco because I thought it would get me to the book for more info. I believe I have voted. Dang.
