Looks like it is a tie again. Maybe we can run two discussions? Either choose which book you want to read or read them both if you would like to?

Lisa, I have gone back and looked at some of the other polls. In one of the first ones I asked whether we wanted to focus on one particular fairy tale as our discussion. Although it wasn't a winner, the option did garner some votes. Since we have a clear tie, and both are retellings of Beauty and the Beast, I thought we might experiment with having a Beauty and the Beast discussion in January. I'd list both books as the monthly read, and members could read one or the other (Or both!), or ANY OTHER BEAUTY and the BEAST retelling. I thought I might try to set up the discussion by re-reading one of the original versions and analyzing for the elements, and maybe we could use those in any discussion? Do you have any thoughts? Does anyone else?

I like that option! I've read The Fire Rose and really enjoyed it. I think I may look into another retelling as well and share my thoughts. I'm going to look into my options and decide later today! :)

That works for me, Heidi. I'll find an original version and read it as well as The Fire Rose.
