Don't listen to the bummer!).

If it is nothing but "normal" resistance: I force myself to sit down, put every distraction away, push through and after a while the words start to flow.

If it is a "real" block (you cannot seem to get one straight thought into your head and feel like you seriously lost your talent): I stop trying to write immeditately. I take a break of 1-3 days and make sure to put myself back into a good mood (walks in nature, sports, meeting cherished friends). I also read scenes that I wrote and liked to remind myself that there is some hidden talent there. And then I crack my knuckles, hit the keys, and tell myself that even if I write something stupid now, I won't be worse off than if I don't write at all... (less)
