Sometimes in life, you have to do unpleasant things to get revenge. Like sit through a boring corporate meeting in the morning, train until your muscles scream at noon, and let yourself be bribed before midnight.

Exhaustion crashed over me in waves, and every single part of my body was bruised and battered. Hands, arms, legs, feet. Even my blasted hair hurt, mostly from my ponytail poking into the back of my head from where I was sprawled on the mat.

Hikers trudged along trails that snaked through the thick vegetation, snapping photos of the birds and butterflies that flitted back and forth above their heads. Man-sized spiders spun massive webs across some of the paths, waiting for lunch to come along and snare itself, unconcerned by the people oohing and aahing over them.
ohh hell no .... that is why I live where the air hurts my face most of the year.
I laughed. “Me? Volatile? Hardly. He’s the most notorious killer in the galaxy.” “And yet you’re the one trying to get revenge on the people who wronged you.” Hmm. Maybe I was more volatile than I’d realized.
