But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
Daniel Dewitt liked this
for the LORD was watching over me.
Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people.
Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the LORD
You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
For you bless the godly, O LORD;
you surround them with your shield of love.
17 I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
Yet you made them only a little lower than God[*] and crowned them[*] with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—
will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. 2 I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
I trust in the LORD for protection.
But the LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth.
The virtuous will see his face.
The LORD’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace,
purified seven times over.
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. 6 I will sing to the LORD
because he is good to me.
I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.[*] My body rests in safety.
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
love you, LORD; you are my strength.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. 3 I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.
He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.
I
have not turned from my God to follow evil.
To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.
To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. 27 You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. 28 You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness. 29 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.
God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.
For the king trusts in the LORD. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.
Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.
Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.
a right relationship with God their savior.
The LORD, strong and mighty;
O LORD, I give my life to you.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.
May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.
I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.
Put me on trial, LORD, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart.
Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the LORD
The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
